Since it’s inception the WI has encouraged women to learn new skills. In 1948 the WI’s Denman College was established. It offered day schools and residential courses on a wide variety of subjects. WI’s could send a delegate to Denman for courses and training.
The Denman College building was sold and the funds generated placed in permanent endowment, to be released and used in the best way to reach all present and future members. The Denman Trust has developed an educational model which is inclusive, flexible and accessible to members. It is also unique in that does this does not compete with local educational activities.
Online courses are available through the WI Learning Hub. They are described as providing an online, flexible learning pathway that propels women into pursuing their passion, skills or academic goals through a variety of accessible and inclusive learning experiences, empowering women at all stages of life to increase their self-worth, confidence and reach their full potential.
Current offerings include Live Courses, Online Courses, Walking Tours and NFWI Training and Events. All available courses, with further information on their content, can be found on the WI Learning Hub.
