The second week in December was an eventful one for Tickenham WI members, with three lovely Christmas events. The first was the Christmas party in the Tickenham Village Hall, the second a trip to St John the Evangelist Church in Clevedon for the Avon Federation WI Carol Service and the third the Tickenham WI Christmas Lunch at Long Ashton Golf Club.
The Christmas party was very enjoyable, with a Christmas “Backwards Quiz”, some fun games, lots of socialising and a wonderful spread of food provided by the members.
The Avon FWI Carol Service was lovely, with some gorgeous, uplifting choral music from the Avon FWI choir and many familiar and well-loved carols for the congregation, together with readings and poems. The church is a beautiful building, with ornate and lovely stained glass windows and panels.
The lunch was at Long Ashton Golf Club who provide a brilliant venue and upheld our expectations of their great food and service, as they have in previous years. Lots of opportunity to connect and catch up with friends in a relaxed and festive environment.
